1) Difference

The main difference between gravity flush toiletsand siphon toilets is that their pipe design is different, 

and the structure determines the operation, so the way they flush is also very different.

Gravity flush toilets do not use much water each time, 

mainly through the compressed air to generate thrust,

the impact of the water flow is more concentrated, so the drainage is faster.

The siphon toilet's drainage pipe is very different from the direct-flush type,

The pipes of the gravity flush toilet have a short path, a large diameter and are not curved, 

so some large dirt and debris can be easily handled, and it is not easy to have a "traffic jam", so it is less worrying. 

It requires less water flow, so there is not much standing water, which saves water. 

The short, straight design allows the water to concentrate its main "force" on the dirt at the bottom of the commode, 

which weakens the cleaning ability of the walls and affects the overall decontamination effect. In addition, 

it has no water storage bend and no odour control, leaving the washroom with an unpleasant odour, 

which affects the experience of using it.

Siphon toilets have a lot of suction and a relatively good drainage capacity. 

When flushing, the water flow swirls around the walls of the bucket a little, which cleans the walls better than a direct flush. 

The advantage is that it is a curved design so there is storage for water and it is less likely to waft out odours. 

However, it requires more water to create a siphon than a direct flush toilet, so it uses more water and is a bit water intensive.

 It can handle human excrement and paper waste, but it is not so good at "digesting" food waste.

3) Noise

The gravity flush toilet has a short and fast flush, and the corresponding noise is also relatively loud,

Siphonic toilets are not too loud when flushing, 

they are quite quiet and do not disturb the entertainment and rest of others when someone in the house is using them. 

If someone in the family is sensitive to noise, the siphon toilet is friendly.

After analysing these two types of toilets, it is easy to see that although they have their pros and cons, 

as long as you don't like dumping large debris into the toilet, 

a siphon toilet is still a much better experience than a straight flush toilet.
